WHAT I'M ALL ABOUT

Wesley Kabakjian is a cinematographer, Steadicam, and Camera Operator based out of New England and New York whose work has taken him all over the world – from capturing stories of refugees in South Sudan and Uganda to shooting one of the first narrative films ever produced in Kutchi (a language of Western India).
Kabakjian’s diverse portfolio of work runs the gamut, from commercial work shown at major sporting events (like Superbowl LII) to hard-hitting documentaries and international independent films.
Kabakjian hustled his way into filmmaking while living in the Caribbean in his early twenties, showing up to movie sets in the early morning hours to find work as background talent. Being willing to be where no one else is has become a trademark of Kabakjian’s career – one of the many reasons why he’s become the go-to pinch hitter in his industry for last minute film opportunities.
Earning his formal training in India during a two-month long film intensive, Kabakjian had the opportunity to learn the foundational skills of cinematography from an international industry perspective. Kabakjian is aditionally a graduate of the word renowned Steadicam Operators Association Steadicam Workshop. “This is the premiere Steadicam workshop, with traditions and education handed down over the past four decades, founded by Garrett Brown.”
Kabakjian’s modern, cinematic approach to the visuals he captures have become a hallmark of his camerawork – knowing light, how it falls and how to properly shape it, yielding an end result that’s deliberate and synchronized.
Personally and professionally, Kabakjian has a desire to see people change and grow for the better.
